according to the research on cholesterol, its the grains and starchy root vegetables that really contribute to it. saturated fat actually does little to cholesterol, gotta watch out for those grains and starches! I personally think this diet is perfect for people who have high cholesterol as it omit the grains and starches from the diet. I keep trying to get my mom to follow this diet but she loves bread so much. coincidentally the years she eats more bread and grains are the years her cholesterol spikes. but shes so stubborn...
I agree with Nicki, no potatoes, legumes, peas, beans, etc.
I eat beans and peas on occasion, maybe once every 2-3 months. So if you eat them its not that big of a deal, just try to limit them as much as possible.
