I'd love to see a few photos of where everybody lives.

Here's a few photos of where I live... the beach is at the end of the street, about 200 metres from home.  I was lucky enough to find a very cheap apartment to rent close to the beach and the national park.

Yeah, it's nice to see places not ruined by modern "development". Last year, my biology class went on a field-trip there. Had a good talk with an exchange student from a small town in Austria. He was pretty amazed at it all, saying he half-expected to see monkeys living in the trees. I was pretty interested in what he said, telling me how his grandfather taught him to hunt but to also respect the land. I think this is something boys these days should learn, maybe as a rite of passage, which these days seem to be forgotten.

Yes.  Today's right of passage involves being an Emo, whom I think are actually staging a a silent protest against the empty values of middle class society, which I applaud.  Kids (specifically adolescents) are notorious for challenging the 'old guard', and I think we should listen to them more.

And yes, I think we should listen to indigenous people more.  As they seem to know a thing or two about how life works

That's what I had originally thought

Oh there is a huge desert in the state. Right there with THE MOUNTAINS about 600-700miles away. When I was in the military, I found out thats what most people thought of, when they pictured Texas.
