Food & Diet / Re: New with questions

I would honestly say stick to the Phase 1 program for as long as you can.  I know it is ideal to get the protein in your body right after working out; however you can eat a protein rich dinner to help offset this a little.  I have done this diet many years back and I went into it knowing I was going to lose a little energy and gains when it came to the gym.  On the other side of it though my overall health increased and it was just a trade off. Once  you get to phase 3 you will be able to consume the animal protein after your workout and your body will respond pretty amazingly to this and you will get all your gains back.

Just my thought on the question.

Food & Diet / Re: The Topic of Milk, Coffee and Neqbie Questions

Also, I haven't browsed the forums extensively but I have seen a few answers to the following but nothing that really answers my questions fully.

What is the stance on alcohol?

From what I've seen this diet reprograms our bodies to crave only the good things by resetting our systems.
The one meal a day thing could also be simulating a full day of hunting then finally the feast at the end of the day from your kill.
Of course as foragers, we have the possibility of adding fruit or nuts on occasion as we passed them.
Especially if our past selves used pursuit predation.
While pursuing the prey we could grab a few nuts or berries along the way.

Anyways, back to my point. Are we trying to shock our systems and reset and does adding other things like Milk, Coffee, Alcohol or any other contaminants effect the process?
Or is this not about resetting the system and whatnot?
Are there scientific facts?

That's all my questions for now.

Food & Diet / The Topic of Milk, Coffee and Neqbie Questions
« Last post by Conchobear on August 21, 2015, 12:30:26 PM »
I have read here that sometimes Coffee is allowed and that Milk is on the fence a bit.

The argument there is that our bodies evolved to be able to ingest it because of all the benefits it has.

My question is, Does it count as a meal?

Babies drink milk as a meal. So is drinking milk while in the 2nd Stage allowed? And what about coffee? I find coffee keeps me from being hungry.
Also what are the thoughts about drinking it in the grazing period in Stage 1?

I want to get the best out of my body and I'm really into odd things like this plus this should help shed a few extra pounds I have and cut down on food cost.

If anyone has insight I would love to hear it. Or even opinions.
I'm new to this, Day 1 was good although I didn't have nuts or fruit so I just fasted. Is that advised or should I be grazing as part of the process?

I started the caveman 5 days ago and dropped 8 lbs immediately. I've been working out for over half a year but only loss 7 lbs. I've went from 260 to 253.

I lift weights and do hit cardio. I recently started having 2-3 eggs when I do my weightlifting in the morning, every other day. Should I not eat the eggs and only graze starting out?

I mainly eat it for the protein in my weight lifting. Thanks

Hi Everyone,

I am ready to do this. I am not the best at jumping on the web on a regular basis will try my best. I have been reading so much info on IF and am sold on it. I have been trying the 5:2 diet but would like to step it up and really throw myself into a more paleo way of life as I have found out I have problems with wheat/gluten/and some dairy and id love to ditch the sugar - so that lead me back here. So as of tomorrow I am starting stage one. My plan is to try and log in at least every second night if not every night and update the following things:

WEIGHT - EXERCISE COMPLETED - MOOD - FOOD EATEN

My STATS are :
weight : 65kgs
Height : 166cm

Busy xx

Richard,

Congratulations on your hard work. I know it this is a difficult diet especially for many years of eating in an unhealthy way. My husband and I are on day 1 and I'm sure by the end of the day we will be ready to devour our food! I read all of your posts and I think you were off to a great start. I don't see anymore posts since the 13th but if you are still doing this diet I am praying for you. I know how you feel about not liking your overweight body. Our bodies are a temple and we must take care of them which is why I'm starting this. But the way I am treating it is not a "diet" or a quick fix to getting skinny, I've decided to treat it as a fast. During this lifestyle change my goal is to not only become healthier, have more energy, and feel better, but also draw closer to God and lean to him in my weaknesses. I've struggled with body image issues for most of my life and what I've started learning is God wants us to enjoy life and live! However it is so difficult to enjoy life when we are always stressing over the things we eat. So my advice to you is to treat this program as a new start for a healthier happier you. Take care of your temple but don't let this diet become a God, just like food has. Food controls us in so many ways, and I've realized that I hate eating healthy because I know what I'm missing out on. But that thought right there is why I am treating this as a Fast. I'm going to be praying when I have cravings or want to "cheat" and lean to Jesus to walk through this with me and give me the strength I need to overcome the detoxification and starvation I will be experiencing. I hope you find encouragement through this! Have a blessed day! <3 Ashley

John 6:35 I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.
