Advice Column / Warrior Diet..good or bad?
« on: November 26, 2011, 10:14:42 PM »
I was talking about the primal blueprint with a person and they sai it sort of sounds like the warrior diet. The warrior diet is basically when a person eats ONE meal a day and it is at night or in the evening. During the day the person grazes only. Nuts, berries or other fruits but in small amounts. Is this a good approach? It sort of sounds like the caveman diet found on cavemanpower.com
It says the same thing...one large meal a day and at night.

Is this is a good diet similar to the primal blueprint?

Advice Column / Truck driving and health
« on: November 14, 2011, 08:40:45 PM »
Here's one for my fellow cavemen (and women). I have been thinking about goint to school to become an over-the-road trucker but I still am not sure how healthy of a lifestyle it would be. The money is good and there are a few that I talk with who are able to maintain great health. The do it by exercising when not in the truck and taking food with them from home instead of eating at the truckstops. Does anyone here know of a caveman or woman who drives and is still able to follow the caveman diet and lifestyle?   :-\

Advice Column / Can a diet or certain types of foods cause gallstones??
« on: October 27, 2010, 09:30:13 PM »
I'm just curious because my sister has to have her gallblader taken out. Can something like this be caused by certain types of foods like too much milk?? She has Diabetes I believe and I'm telling her about the caveman diet. Her doctor seems to think along the same line...giving up bread, watching the carbs, things like that.

Thanks for any info.   :)

Advice Column / Re: Does the caveman diet cause acidic condition???

I remember people thinking I was sick too, I had to go to the hospital during my vegetarian days several times because I had so many deficiencies in my diet (mainly iron). personally I think a natural lifestyle is the best way to go, everyone benefits from it I think.
[/quote]

Sorry to hear you had to go to the hospital. At least you're better now just like I am. Another problem I saw with being vegan was that so much of the food was UNnatural and processed. That can't be good.

I would LOVE to join a tribe!! Perhaps we should start one ourselves. I agree with you that society just doesn't feel normal or right. As I've read, society is a very UNnatural place for humans.

I'm with you Sidhe. A lot of people were starting to think that I was sick because I was TOO thin. Now that I'm eating only natural, unprocessed foods and following the caveman diet, I look nd feel MUCH better. I also have tons of energy now. Seems like some of the vegans I know are a little self righteous.
But my body feels good on this diet. The only thing I don't follow is the eating once a day.

Advice Column / Does the caveman diet cause acidic condition???
« on: April 02, 2010, 02:06:53 PM »
I need more help again. Some of the vegans I know have told me that this diet is bad because meat and dairy cause the body to become acidic which can lead to cancer and other diseases. I'm sure most of you here have heard of the akaline body...it makes it impossible for disease to exist while an acidic body can create disease.
I have heard of this but I'm not so sure how true it is. Any thoughts??  I keep telling them that I look and feel better now that I eat animal products but they say that's temporary.

Thanks again tribe members!!          :)

Advice Column / Meat replacement
« on: February 12, 2010, 04:18:23 PM »
I know that meat is good for you, but I live in Mexico City and don't have access to good quality meat so I thought about doing the eggs and milk thing instead. I know milk is one of those foods that some here do and others don't, but since I don't like to eat the cheap meat from Wal-Mart,I figured I would go for milk and eggs.
Both are natural compared to man made processed junk. What say you?

Thanks again for the information Tony. I don't have a problem with cholesterol, I'm just trying to get information. I love this site! It has helped save me from the bad results of trying to go vegan for a while.

Advice Column / Animal Fat
« on: February 12, 2010, 08:43:17 AM »
So if I'm understanding it correctly, if one eats animal fats with no grains, the body will use the animal fat for energy in place of the carbs thus protecting you from having blocked arteries in the future??? Just trying to understand the science behind this diet.I really like the concept here and I actually apply it to more areas of life than just diet.

Advice Column / Why did Bill Clinto have a heart problem???
« on: February 12, 2010, 08:40:31 AM »
Hello again all!!

Just something I've been thinking about since seeing it on the news...why do you think Clinton had a couple of blockages in his heart? Too many grains? Lack of exercise? Too much processed foods? Everytime something like this happens it seems docs come forth telling people to adopt a low fat high card diet.
Yet I read in a magazibne last week that doctors are starting  to rethink the hich carb low fat diet. Your thoughts??

Advice Column / lots of carbs bad??? What about Japan????
« on: January 16, 2010, 02:02:48 PM »
Here's one for the tribe. A friend of mine wants to know if a lot of carbs are so bad for us and can lead to heart disease according to some, why is it that the Japanese don't suffer from these things even though their diet has a lot of carbs?? I'm still new to this so anyone with information that I could pass along to my friend, would be appreciated.
It appears that a lot of people who eat a standard diet, don't care much for this diet.I love it but I seem to be alone except for this website. Here's another point my friend is trying to make with me...there doesn't seem to be any scientific evidence that a lot of carbs can cause insulin levels to rise. I'm not sure on this one.
Again, I'm new to this but the diet seems to be working for me, I just don't have enough info to answer these questions. I almost forgot...there was a post on here that said a high protein low carb diet can lower testosterone levels? Any truth to that?? i hope not!!

Thanks guys and gals.      :)

Advice Column / fasting and maple syrup
« on: December 16, 2009, 01:42:56 PM »
Another question from a newbie.

I used to do juice fasts once a month or once a week.  Sometimes limes with syrup for one day, other times apples with carrot juice. Do you all think syrup is part of the diet? lime with water????

Thanks!!!!

Advice Column / How do you handle vegans that say you're crazy??
« on: December 14, 2009, 08:41:05 AM »
Hello my fellw cavemen and cavewomen.

I am planning on starting the two week cleanse next Monday and I was wondering how do you all handle vegans that say this was of eating will kill you?? I know a vegan and he says I should be able to get everything I need through plants and fruits. I tried this for a while but I got very weak all of the time.
I'm 6ft and I got down to 145 lbs by following the vegan diet. I did everything the books and people told me to do like, get your protein from greens. This just didn't work for me. I like the caveman diet although I'm concerned that I may get too weak by only getting cargb through fruits. Anyway, what do you say to vegans who laugh at this caveman philosophy? I know from experience that the vegan diet doesn't work. Any ammunition would be appreciated.

Advice Column / the concrete jungle...not natural and not healthy
« on: September 15, 2009, 03:53:46 PM »
We all know that it's almost impossible to not be connected to society in some way shape or form even though many things in society are unhealthy. I have been living in Mexico City since June 2008 and I can tell you that there are many things here (as in all big cities around the world) that are NOT good for people.
I am, however, fortunate enough to live right behind a huge beautiful park which I go to as much as I can. When I'm there I feel like I'm completely out of the city. I actually feel like I can breathe better also. Possibly because of all of the trees? I love spending time in the bush. I was wondering, what are some things you, my fellow cavemen and cavewomen, do to reduce the man made stress that comes from living in a concrete jungle?
I also try to go to Acapulco whenever I can because being on a beach just does something to a person. Compared to living way out in the woods, we aren't allowed to really be true to our biology are we? Totally unnatural. How do you all deal with living in an unnatural society??
