General Discussion / Re: Fell off the bandwagon and back on

I'm in the same boat - Due to my job, my diet and workout plan is not a priority in the spring.  I eat whatever I have time to get my hands on, and I do not workout at all.  I plan on getting back into it within the next couple of weeks.  I remember two summers ago I went on this diet, and it really worked wonders for me.  I was lean, strong, and believe it or not, faster and more agile.  I'm looking forward to losing the spare tire and getting back to that...

Food & Diet / Re: A newbie to Caveman Power Diet
« on: August 06, 2008, 03:38:33 PM »
Hey there... I am no expert on the diet, as I am only on stage 5 after researching this for about three months.  However, I thought I could help a bit...

I don't necessarily think that losing weight is the end-all goal of the caveman diet.  It is, instead, a steady change of eating habits that, yes, can result in weight loss if that is how your body is meant to be.  Personally, I'm on day 5 of stage I, and without altering my previous cardio/weight training regimine, I'm actually up 4 pounds.

My point is that the scale is really not your number one priority of measurement with this diet.  Returning your body to a natural state, enjoying foods that are healthier (that maybe you've never tried before - I never realized how much I love peaches and almonds), and living a healthier lifestyle are better measurables.  Don't look to the scale... How do you feel?

- I'll turn it over to one of the vets for feedback, but that's what I've learned so far.

If you're looking for a website to help guide you through a workout, check out www.crossfit.com

They also suggest the caveman diet as part of the workout (which is why I'm here).
