Advice Column / Stage 2 POST WORKOUT MEAL question

I eat my one meal at 7pm.  I workout at 10pm.  yes, I am a night owl.  Do I need to eat after I workout? I'm not hungry but I have read post workout meals/snacks are beneficial to muscle repair.  Can I just do without?  I used to have a serving of pecans and 3 strawberries for my post workout snack but now I'm doing Stage 2 so unsure.

General Discussion / I am back after almost a year

Just wanted to check in and say hi to those that gave me such great advice when I started!  A lot has happened in the last year.  Took a blood test and come to find out my hormones, my thyroid and some vit levels were extremely low.  I am now on Thyroid meds, Testosterone, DHEA, Mega doses of Vit D, and B, and Progesterone. 
I am eating Paleo and working out again.  I am losing inches more than weight.  I eat three fried eggs for breakfast, then have dinner, then exercise then post workout snack. 
Weighed 146 and now 139.  It's been about 5 weeks. 
I am back on here rereading my old posts to see what I did and the advice you all gave me when I started.  Not sure what phase I should start!!
I basically eat two meals now with a post workout snack which is usually a serving of nuts and 3 strawberries!

Is pumpkin paleo?  There are tons of pumpkin paleo recipes online.  Pumpki :Dn pancakes, doughnuts, bread etc.

Hello fellow Cavers.  I've been off the forum for a long while but am back.  I love this way
Of eating but stopped for several months and slowly started gaining weight. 
I started again today with phase 1.  I came across the warrior diet in that you eat in a 4 hour window after a 20 hour fast.  I would think that would be too much food but the testimonials are great. 
Your thoughts on this!

OK.... you old timers know me...So right to the point!  My weight loss has stalled...should I fast for a couple days, meaning eat fruits/veg VERY lightly and no big meal?  My hope is to kick start the weight loss again.  I pretty much have been eating only one big meal a day and eating fruit.  I have not lost any more weight and have not gained any, either.  Stuck at 135!

was 153 now 135.....I want to be low 120's!

Hi friends,
I've been so busy that I haven't posted in a while but just to let you all know that I'm on stage three and still losing.  Slowly BUT losing.  I started March 3rd and now down 15 pounds.  I weighed 153 when I started and I now weigh 138! 
I still feel like a lard, though!  Need to lose another 15 pounds!  I feel great, eating a lot less these days and back to running again. 

So to my blogger friends you know who you are,  I am doing great and I hope you are too,  Give me a shout out and fill me in.  I really enjoyed all of your advice when I was getting started.  The Real Estate thing is slow going but going and I'm learning a lot.  Thanks for the well wishes when I took and passed my test!

Hope you all are enjoying your Easter break!  I'm going to find myself a 70% dark chocolate bar with no sugar and indulge while I watch my girls eat all of the stuff I wish I could out of their Easter baskets!!

General Discussion / Starting Stage 2 Today March 28,2011

I haven't lost any more weight in 9 days on stage 1 so I am going to start stage 2.  It's been four weeks so I feel I am ready!  I've been snacking lightly and eating my one meal Paleo and am unsure why the weight loss has stopped. Any thoughts??
So, let's see how phase 2 goes.  Will post my progress on Friday!

Fitness & Exercise / Feeling weak and tired

I know a lot of you know me already but for those that don't I've been on stage 1 for 20 days.  Have lost 9 pounds.  Eating Paleo for my one meal.  Usually have 2 oranges and sometimes some almonds during the day. 

I have NOT felt this energy burst that everyone is fortunate to feel.  I am always sleepy and tired.  I worked out today and could only do 25 minutes instead of the normal 45.  For the last week, I've been drinking my morning coffee. I just feel weak, especially in my arms when II work out.  I don't want to start increasing my snacks because I want to lose another 20 pounds. 

In all fairness to this eating plan, I was weak and tired before I started doing this but at least my workouts were more productive.  I have severe hormonal issues and was hoping that this change in eating would help. I am just now getting over my cycle and this is the time of the month that I feel the most tired. So far though, cutting out so many things from my diet has really helped with the hormonal migraines! Just wish I had energy! 

I do drink a lot of water, I also drink decaf green tea, have my coffee in the AM and I have not cheated.  So any advice on what I can do to feel more peppy?? Oh, dinner is usually meat or chicken and a large salad or mixed veges. Tomorrow I will have eggs since it's been a week since I've had them. I do take a multivitamin but not regularly cuz I forget sometimes. Ok Houmax...I'm ready for the links! LOL ;D

Got on the scale this morning and down 3 pounds......can't explain that, probably water weight but the scale going down and not up is a good motivator.  Esp when I start to get hunger pangs!

Had some almonds and an apple thus far!  Drinking green tea.  Had 1/2 cup black coffee because I am in class and a little sleepy!

Advice Column / Whey Protein

Stage 1 day 2
Once I go strictly Paleo, do I need to give up drinking my whey protein shakes?  It has 1 gram of sugar and the Whey is derived from cow's milk?  I drink one scoop with water after my workouts.

 ::) I am on day 1 stage 1!  What nuts are allowed?  I read that peanuts and cashews are not allowed.  Also, what about black coffee?  How long should I do Stage 1?
