Title: Paleo on the go!
Post by: BigKhanz on May 29, 2008, 01:07:43 PM
This has been my both my pre-workout and recovery "meal" for the last three weeks and I'm loving the resolutes I've had. It's not a "purist" food, but, close enough for me and it helps to meet my MASSIVE protein requirements and I don't burn out at the gym because of the balance of macro-nutrients...

1 banana
1 half-cup strawberries
1 half avocado
1 tsp spirullina (an algae)
1 tsp honey
1 handfull almonds
1 shot of Wheatgrass juice
1 tsp liquid multivitamins
1 scoop high (50g+) protein, whey
1 tsp Green Tea extract
1 cup skim milk OR orange juice
3 cups Ice

let me know what you think, or if you have another idea 8)

I needed a little pick me up today, so I had them add a couple shots of espresso to it, and it was on!!!!

Title: More from the Caveman blender (or Paleo on the go...)
Post by: BigKhanz on October 21, 2008, 11:13:45 PM
It's about 1am and I couldn't sleep. I was just craving something sweet. Now I looked around our HUGE kitchen and see the dozen different kinds of cookies, donuts, and sweets that my roommates are hoping will get them a social security check to go along the diabetes they are flirting with :P. I didn't realize how different I really am until the bodybuilder roommate and the alcoholic roommate both come out to see what I'm doing. Now I thought nothing of this, but apparently the sight of me in the kitchen after midnight using a tomahawk to cut open a baby coconut(worked liked a charm) in order to get the water is something "odd". :o  But after watching them shake their heads at my explanation, I completed my midight snack and am here to share it. It was excellent.

Caveman Midnight shake

2 cups baby coconut water
1 cup orange juice
1 whole banana
6 egg whites
1 tsp almond  butter(blends better than whole almonds)
1 pinch cinnamon
1 dab of honey

Blend until smooth
;D

Double shot of espresso, maybe?   ;)

Seriously though, these look like great recipes... thanks for sharing 'em with us.
