Mike looks back to check if Owen's still in one piece, you can just see Owen's bike light in the distance.

We had to ride back to Mike's car via Kariong, which was a few kilometres by road. We went past the F3 Freeway and detoured around the Old Pacific Highway, where that family were washed away in a tragic landslide.

It was freezing, pitch black, and raining. But we had made it out of the bush so ultimately, we were stoked. The first thing we did when we got to the car was to stand around the exhaust pipe so we could get warm. It was bloody cold, but we were all so relieved to be okay.

Next week's ride should be a little more sane... we hope ;)
