ok so I am about to embark on this new journey along side alot of you. The diet itself seems to be flawless, makes perfect sense. However, working out is an issue for me, I live on the second floor of an old house, so I can not make much noise. I can leave the house to run and so forth, but being a self concious over weight person I do not feel comfortable working out outside. So my question is what kind of workout can i do that does not involve jumping movements, that will still get me in shape? oh and i can do inverted rows and i do have a straight bar with around 120 pounds of weight.

Sit-ups maybe??...... the other thing you could consider is swimming.......people wont be able to see your size except for when you get in and out of the pool.

Circuits of rapid walking followed by some type of lifting is the intended spirit of the workout.  Obviously, the outdoor workout is preferable since you're enjoying the benefits of the fresh air and sunshine.

Be creative. Getting outside as much as possible would be great but if your uncomfortable with that do things inside that don't make much noise. Treadmill, etc. A friend of mine is in the Navy and he had to be on a submarine for about 3-6 months. He did sit ups and push ups and come back buffed.

you can do push ups, and crunches, over head arm claps, you can use the stairs and do calve lifts. There are a lot of excresices that you can do more upper body than lower but you can walk outside, or do some squats and lundgs ( sorry can't spell). If you get a set of bands  then your home can become a gym, they are around 20-30 dollars for a set and it is a great way to get in to working out. They aren't high resistance but great for toning.

Thank you for the replies, upon some consideration ive decided to join a local boxing gym. I just cant pass up 20 dollars a month to learn a great skill and get a 6 day a week killer workout. Grin

If you suspect that statement to be true, then you'll probably want to know why it could be true. Well, this is what I have devoted my life to finding out, and I want to share with you everything i've learnt, as well as learn from you!
