Hello Cavemen and Women,  Huh

First a question about vitamin supplements.  I'm still in Stage 1 of the CPD, and I'm eating fruits, nuts, and some vitamins.  I am also taking a single herbal supplement to help me wake up in the morning, rather that coffee.  Are vitamin supplements compatible with all 3 stages of the CPD?

Also, while I am on Day 6 of the Stage 1 of the CPD, I am surprised to say I am having symptoms of a throat infection.  It started a couple days ago, and has increased.  I rarely get sick so I was surprised that I got it now.  Is it possible my body is detoxing and this is a way of showing it?  In order to get to sleep and stop coughing, I am taking nighttime cold medicine.   I suppose I need to ask if cold medicines or prescriptions are compatible with the CPD as well.

 Did you know that your body stores toxins in fat? The throat infection could be an old one that is coming back.

Yes, I did read that somewhere, and I believe that can be true. 

Is the toxic fat down my throat or stomach, or is it a memory of an old throat infection?

last time I got sick was on the onset of my pregnancy, which was 5 months ago. and before that it had been years since I had any type of sickness. I do have knowledge of a bunch of remedies for colds and infections and such, and I use them as a preventative. 

first things first though, go see your doctor and see if you need to be put on any antibiotics. an infection and the cold/flu are two different things. if its truly an infection you will need professional care. However in the mean time eat a raw garlic clove (or two) a day, garlic helps fight infections and also helps boost the immune system. as long as the garlic is crushed it'll work, so you can crush it and then drink it like a pill with some water or even a vegetable or fruit juice to mask the taste if it bothers you.

the most i ever took for colds or flus was some aspirin, which was only to keep my fever down. as far as coughing though, try herbal lozenges rather than cough syrup. or even a tablespoon of honey mixed with a table spoon of raw apple cider vinegar. It helps with dry coughs. for coughs that are accompanied my mucous you should probably drink a fennel seed tea, it'll help break up the congestion and allow you to expel the mucous more efficiently.
