I have been doing Paleo for 2.5 weeks now and have lost almost 10 pounds (while eating meat and fats!!). I must say that this way of eating is something I have been searching for my entire life (I am 62). I really love all meats and meat fats; yet every diet I have ever done (and there have been a ton) tries to limit meat; and meat fat is just not “allowed” at all. I always felt like I was missing something; thus, the “diets” worked for awhile but then I would gain the weight back and then some.
This way of life is like a godsend to me – I had no issues giving up sugars, carbs and dairy at all; as they were not what my body has been craving for all these “dieting” years!! I feel like a new woman, and like I have gone back to my roots again. Also, those “normal” aches and pains that “older” people have upon awakening are all but gone now, too.  I exercise using the Leslie Sansone walking tapes and do about 15 miles per week that includes strength training and weights, and also yoga and meditation daily.
I would recommend this lifestyle to anyone; but of course, people think you are nuts when you tell them about it! That is also why I love this forum, as I can share with like-minded people here.
Thanks for all the support and information for this newbie – I feel like I have been reborn as the cavewoman I have been trying to become for 62 years!!

Hello Ivergamini,

Sounds like the journey has started really well. This way of life suits me down to the ground but trying to get people to realise that eating natural fats isn't what makes people fat is like hitting your head against a brick wall most of the time!

Wow Iver, what an inspiring story! Also gives me hope that I might never develop those "normal" pains when I'm 62!
It's so great you've found something that has made a difference - and 15 miles per week? I feel like a complete slob now and I'm half your age!
You're an inspiration, lady!

"As fit as a modern day athlete"
If you suspect that statement to be true, then you'll probably want to know why it could be true. Well, this is what I have devoted my life to finding out, and I want to share with you everything i've learnt, as well as learn from you!
Shut me up?
