Here's the deal...
Time how long it takes to lift 10 tonnes of weight from the ground to above your head.

Use any type and any size weight.  You may want to do 200 reps of 50kg's, or 400 reps of 25kg's - the choice is yours... just lift 10 tonnes!
Note: 10 tonnes = 10,000 kilos = 22,000 pounds.

For your results, please update a single post instead of making multiple posts.

WARNING: this workout is incredibly tough. Attempt it at your own risk.

5min rest

100 weight dips in 20min at 260(+25pnd vest)

5min

100 reps of dip machine in 15min at 330pnd

5min

1 set of 25 body weight pullups at 260 pnds

total- 96,500 pnds moved

I stopped bodybuilding after severe injuries last year and turned to functional strength training at the new year, when I saw a video on youtube. It has brought my Jiu-Jitsu and MMA competitions to a whole new level.

Thank you.

Sounds similar to one we used to do where you pick from several dumbell weights which went from 5 to 30kg hold one in each hand and "simply" hold above you head arms straight up and see how much time you can hold them.

I work in abattoir. Lots of lifting and moving. Generally about 27-32 tonnes a day along with about 4km of walking. This is excluding the jogs to work. 2km in the morning about half of which is uphill. 3km after work which is undulating slowly returning downhill.

Before I started working there I was very overweight. After 6 weeks I lost 22kg which made me  Grin also made the wife very Grin

Am trying to add some more to this, just need some ideas, because I get bored easily!!!

I think I'll try the weighted vest sounds like a killer though  Smiley

Today 14/10/10 I did the 20 tonnes in about an hour and a half!! We are having a mad rush at the moment!!

This activity probably can't be used to qualify for the "10 Tonne Challenge," as it's impossible to know how much resistance you're actually pushing against.  Although the weight of a roll of hay might be fairly consistent, it is not exactly so, and the resistance will also be affected by such factors as the grade/angle of the surface across which it's rolling, the texture of the ground surface and the particular hay roll itself, the moisture content of the particular hay roll, etc.  Looking on the bright side, though, all of that hay rolling is a great way for you to train to actually complete the 10 Tonne Challenge, or any number of other strength goals!   Cool
