This is an interesting site. Definitely thought provoking.

I'm 48 and am in good physical condition except that I have some stubborn belly fat that just doesn't want to go away. It's been hanging around for 25 years and I guess it likes it there. But I finally decided to start taking care of myself and I've made great strides but this last bit doesn't want to go.

I work out everyday. I have to admit that I do like them grains but I would certainly be willing to cut way back if I thought it would help me.

The meal timing seems kind of like the Warrior Diet except I think in one phase at least, you said to eat all at one sitting whereas the WD allows a 4 hour window.

So anyway, I'm looking for any kind of workout and diet advice that might help me drop this last 10 pounds so that I actually look good.

Thanks.

HI!   I also have annoying belly fat that I didn't get until after I gave birth.
However recently it has gone wayyyyyy down.  I do blame the caveman diet because I no longer eat white flower or high fructose corn syrup.

Giving birth is something I'm glad I didn't have to experience. My wife got to do that. Mine came from eating too much and not exercising enough.

Well, I've got three steps for you. Try these together.

1) Resistance training with an emphasis on hypertrophy(building muscle). Lean muscle mass is the the single most important factor when it comes to body composition. The more lean muscle you have, the more fat you burn at all times.

2)Cardio. This is a two part step. Do your cardio either 1st thing in the morning on an empty stomach, or if scheduling prevents, immediately after weight training. Your body has very little blood sugar available at these times, so it is primed for fat burning. Also, use interval training for your cardio.  The body uses more fat during interval training than steady state.

3) Follow the caveman diet, with an emphasis on meat. Lots of protein, moderate to high fat, and LOW carbs.

Guys like me aren't born this way, actually we're not born at all. We're hatched from vulture eggs left in the sun, then raised by Wolves...

What BigKanz says..  Grin

If you eat anything that is against the caveman diet, you are going to run into stubborn fat - the grain you enjoy so much is a toxic collection of anti nutrients that fill your body with mucous that retains water, and prevents you from using the long term packed fat for food. Abstain totally from any grains, legumes, dairy or sweeteners and you will use the fat you can't get rid of.

Resistive exercise will make demands on your energy - work out to fatigue and anything past that, is claiming energy from fat stores.
