If you want to try an alternate track maybe try eating only paleo foods for a couple weeks then jump into stage 2. I had already been eating Paleo for a couple weeks(3 meals a day) then started doing stage 2, PS This diet isn't no carbs, just lower healthier carbs. And don't be in too big a hurry, nourish your body with the right foods in the right portions and the extra weight will come off. Hi
I have just started Phase 1 today and after reading some of the comments on this forum, am wondering whether my evening meal should be what ever I want or to go straight into no carbs like in Phase 2 like others have? Can yo please tell me the benefit of Stage 1
Thanks

Stage one is to get you sick of eating junk food....... stage 2 is to get you loving paleo food, and should give you the biggest weight loss....... stage 3 is the life long " keep it up" phase.

Thank you,
You are right, I can be impatient and just want to see results but if I am going to change my eating habits for the better I do need to do it in the correct way. I am on day 2 of Stage 1 today. I grazed on fruit and nuts yesterday and had my dinner in the evening. We eat every evening as a family, so I just had a smaller portion of what everyone was having. I will do stage 1 I think to prepare myself properly for stage 2.
I am very excited about this new way of eating!

Hi everyone! My partner and I are considering beginning stage one this week. Both of us are considerably "fit" but not in a way that either of us is happy about. We run a video production company and are either always on the go or sitting at a computer working. It's a hurry up and wait kinda of lifestyle that lends itself to gas station food and fast food. Plus we both have an incredible sweet tooth... My biggest purpose for looking for something to change our habits is his High Blood Pressure. I'm afraid his stage one hyper tension will lead to Diabetes and eventually Kidney Disease so I've been researching diets and found this... it seems like a dream come true?! Has anyone with health issues found this improved their overall situation? My only personal purpose is to shed the belly fat I can't seem to drop, as I understand it with my body type that can lead to heart disease and I'd rather live a long life. Thanks all!! Excited to begin stage one!

Hello everyone, I'm Mark
I'm going to start this diet again. I previously tried it for about 2 weeks but as a college student it was hard for me to stick to it. However, I have the money and dedication to make myself stick with it this time.
I'm 6' 3" and 175lb. Unfortunately that's underweight in my standards. I really hope this diet brings me up a few pounds to my natural weight. I'm going to be working out the entire time so hopefully I can gain some lean muscle mass.

Hi everyone! Having been slim all my life I have put a few pounds on in recent years. My goal is to get rid of this, be healthier, more energetic, and more mentally alert. I'm now on my 5th day of stage one and feeling GOOD! I've decided not to eat junk food for my feast because (after Christmas) I'm feeling pretty sick of it anyway! I've been grazing in the day (very lightly) on almonds, hazlenuts, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds and a few grapes. I'm trying to just eat say a couple of nuts and a grape as and when I feel hungry. I assume my stomach is shrinking to it's proper size (a fist), because it was 11.30 this morning before I realised I hadn't eaten anything, and wasn't even hungry!!! However, after reading previous posts I'm now wondering if I'm supposed to limit my night time feast to a fist sized portion? .....and if not, won't that stretch my stomach again and ruin my good efforts during the day? I'm currently eating quite a good plateful at night. It's all paleo, but I don't eat meat (only fish). Loving this site and the forum!

Lots of new people starting lately. My advice is when you introduce yourself state your goals with the diet. Example: Hello, I'm 5'10 250 lbs and want to loose 60 lbs. I'm seeing a lot of people asking for diet advice and they don't even say if they're trying to gain, lose, or maintain weight Besides, concrete numbers give you something real to go for. balanced diet and good appropriate exercize. Consult a doc first

I'm starting on Monday, I need to get to the grocery store to make sure I have all the right foods at hand.
I'm 5'7" and 240ish.
I don't want to say I want to loose 100 pounds (which I do) but I want to at to make my goals obtainable and realistic.

Hello everyone, I'm so pleased to be here. I'm watching tv last night and saw the commercial where the lady starts singing about you're so far away I'd run to you and this guy across town does the same (blah blah he ends up in the hospital & she runs to his bedside). Anyway, he tosses a raw egg into a glass to drink. I know it's for protein, but I decided to google why people drink raw eggs just to see what else it does. I came across a thread that someone spoke of this diet.....I googled this diet and here I am.
I am 5'9" and about 190lbs. Per the Navy I need to be 170 or less. My semi-annual Physical Readiness Test is May 20 with the weigh in on May 19. I don't necessarily need to lose 20+lbs in the next 40 days, but if I'm over the weight then I need to be able to "tape in" within my BMI range. So far I've been able to tape in, but I don't want to stress about it. I'm not sure what a realistic goal of losing weight would be. Ideally 10-15lbs would be nice in 40 days.
Pounding the water today - I'm on some medications so I decided to go with a raw egg & some fruit for breakfast. I'm about to head to the grocery store for the weekly shopping, quite excited to get things going and my wife is excited her diet won't be affected by mine.
Wish me luck, any advice is much appreciated.

Hi I'm Connie, I would love to lose about 50 lbs.
When on Phase 1, can I graze on vegetables also or just fruit and nuts? Thanks for the help.

You can have veggies if you prefer... Just have a variety of colours so you get a good mix of nutrients from the food Nicki

I have been on stage 1 for the last 12 days. I have stuck to the diet to the letter and I have lost 7lbs. I am going to stay on stage 1 for another 3 weeks. I am really happy so far.

Great job VB, I'll bet you're feeling great about all of this now also! I know that when I cheat, although it satisfies a craving, I feel guilty. I'm thinking that's a good thing...! lol
