Hi All
I started this way a while back but got waylaid........I have been reading the forum since on a daily basis anyway and started again yesterday.

I would like to know if there is anybody that is in the same situation I am. I am doing this, to first of all lose weight, quite a lot, and also to get healthier. Losing the weight will hopefully bring on the healthier. I see a lot of posts where people are trying to lose a smaller amount of weight as me and how well they doing etc.

I need to loose 27 Kilos. I lost 1kg since yesterday, which I think it must be water. If there is anybody going for the major weight loss as I am I would appreciate any suggestions.
Thank you

Hi LiLo,

I too am just starting this WOL too - had a few false starts but my friend told me she cracked it by picking a very decent reward that she could buy if and only if she did 4 weeks straight of eating once a day. She said the first week was so hard so she started each week by writing down her menu for each evening and going to the shops and doing a big shop which she did at the very end of the day to stop herself being tempted (apparently skulling a liter or more of water before going shopping does the same thing). Doing the big shop for the whole week meant she didn't have to walk around those tempting isle etc!!

So I'm going to follow her advice and try the reward thing too along w the pre-menu planning. I have 17 kilos to lose in total.

Also she said she really got berated by people for her eating patterns so she ensures that she meets her friends for dinner that way they stopped riding her about being anorexic etc. The diet/lifestyle works she lost 9 kilos her first month and lost a further 10 over 6 weeks - she is at a weight lower than her goal weight but she said its like her body is happy where it is and her weight doesnt go down or up anymore.

Hope my little ramble helps you out. Look forward to having someone in the same boat as me with weight to lose. Grin

Hi, thanks for the advise it definately makes sense to me. I will do that the rest of my first week.

I feel more energetic already after 3 days and dont realy miss any junk. I also decided not to get on the scale every 5 minutes but to weigh once a week, so let me know how you are doing the weighing bit. Did your friend do any excersising while losing the weight? I have started swimming. I dont want to overdo excersising as I think it will get better and more as the weight goes down, dont wanna kill myself first week in...........

Let me know how you feeling and getting on. Well done to us for starting!!!

Hi LILO, she didn't really push herself w working out
at the start she just exercised as she got closer to her
goal weight. She reckons it was as if her body
told her to exercise. She just walked and did exercise DVDs.

She was the biggest junkfood eater ever but now
eats heaps w her oneeal but it's all healthy. Her one indulgence
is whipped cream and berries!

Will pop in and see how ur doing.

I'm a 5'9" tall guy and weighed 248 pounds when I started Caveman Power 7 weeks ago.  I currently weigh 225.  I never really did much exercise during the week.  My exercise was limited to weekend hikes with my wife and dogs.  After my second week of Caveman Power, I had so much energy that I started walking the dogs 4 miles in the morning before work.  After my fourth week, I was so excited about the way I look and feel, that I joined the gym.  My wife is complaining about how my clothes are hanging off of me and wants to take me shopping in the worst way.  I'm trying to hold her off a bit, because it looks like my body is changing every week.  I think I should be able to fend her off for a few more weeks though.  I'd like to get down to about 200 pounds first.  She loves to shop and will likely drag me out sooner, hehe.

Well done

That is what keeps the inspiration going, thanks. I would love to have that kind of weight loss. How much water do you drink per day? What kind of foods are you grazing on during the day?

Thanks

Hi missk82, I am eating as I understand it, it may be wrong so yeah, good to get some feedback maybe.

I have brazil and macadamia nuts, raw and unsalted. In the morning I measure about 2 handfulls into a bowl and during the day I just grab a few as I feel the need to. I also have some fruit, same scenario, measure a small bowl full in the morning and thats whats allocated for the day. Today I have one slice melon, cut up into squares, in a bowl and grab one every now and then. I also eat wih my hands, during the day and at night, thats quite something....At night I will have either a piece of meat or fish with a veg, also about a handful of veg.

Now that is how I understand it, not sure if it is completely right but seems to work...so far....feeling good today, just a slight headache. Tell me what u having and if it is at all similar? Maybe i am completely wrong, Dunno

I just started, as well.  I'm 39 years, 5'9" and weigh in at 178.  While I'm not too heavy, I'm feeling my body fat to muscle ratio is way out of whack and I'm tired ALL of the time.  By my 40th birthday in December I'm hoping to feel faster and stronger.  I practiced martial arts for a good twenty years, but the past few years have been a struggle.  Overall, I'm looking to eat healthier, be healthier and feel better.  I like the idea that you don't have to subscribe to a diet fad to be fit and strong.

Since I'm on Stage 2, I don't eat during the day and only feast at night (although sometimes I'll feast at lunch time if I have plans with the wife or friends).  I drink water every time I feel hungry..it usually takes care of the hunger.  When I was on Stage 1, if I had hunger, I would drink water first.  If that didn't do it, I had some sunflower seeds and cashews mixed in a container and snacked on a few.  It's pretty simple.  Drink water all day long.  I don't really keep track, but it's a lot.  Keeps your skin looking good too:)
