Do you mean sleep apnoea??....... where you struggle to breath whilst asleep and keep waking up??....... If you are very overweight, this can make this condition worse, so sticking to this diet and loosing weight will surely help...... I'm not surprised you're tired alot if you're not sleeping properly. Eating lots of carbs can also make you sleepy, so again this diet will help with that...... hope you and your wife get on OK, and don't forget to ask if you get stuck
