Raw sugar...... hmmm....... not sure if cavemen ate that....... though I know they didn't drink coffee  Wink

I guess it depends how paleo-strict you want to be....... you could always try sweetning with honey or Stevia.

Not cool, perhaps a little honey in hot lemon water should be the norm.

coffee- not good

raw sugar cane, like what comes in those little brown packets? I don't think thats paleo friendly, as it goes through processing. I dont think any sugar, unless its sugar from fruits and honey is paleo friendly. I'm not an expert but it just doesn't seem like it would go along with the paleo diet.

Please explain to me how cavemen got honey from beehives without learning never to try that again? Are we descended from total idiots?

So, Stevia .... is this a good alternative to sugar?  I was wondering what I should drink.  I like decaf ice tea but not sure how to sweeten it.  Maybe just lemon?  What can you drink on this kind of diet? Maybe ice water with lemon.

Neither really, better to just get over sweets. Honey is a Paleo food and if your in maintenance mode a little honey should be OK. If your trying to lose weight honey(which is just sugar) will only hinder the process.

There's almond and coconut milk, some juices, tea, coffee(for me anyway), Some don't but I like a little cranberry juice every once in a while.

Sugar is a powerful and addictive substance. I'm sure they learned early to smoke the hives to make the bees sleepy and easy to rob.

Stopping altogether is easiest for sugar. Even eating a bit of it keeps the cravings going.

I use it too. Fights decay, helps breath, and sometimes keeps me from hitting the vending machine for junk food at work.

Melon and mint flavored gum is my big time vice, I love that stuff.

Sugar isn't friendly to your body. If you are going by the guiding prinicple of being true to your biology, avoid it.
