Hey guys, long time lurker, recent registerer here...

I've been on 'the diet' for a couple of months now, slipped onto stage two with relative ease, and the weight was dropping off... literally, I must have lost a stone and a half within about a month. I loved it.

However now I'm starting to lose the self-discipline. I used to stick to the caveman guidelines to-the-word, and would never stray, however now I am finding myself maybe picking during the day (still meat and fruit) or maybe going back to graze the fridge and grilling a few pieces of bacon to cure the munchies... Basically I'm getting a bit relaxed about it.

Fortunately I'm still off the bread, sugar and dairy, so hopefully I'm not completely back to square one, but I've been noticing the processed 'rubbish' creeping back in...

My question is: has anyone else reached this stage? How did you find the drive to get back on track? I have a fairly active job, and this means that I frequently find myself craving some caffeine, or really, really having to resist just popping into tesco's.

Cheers guys

If you're following the "stages," it sounds like you're probably ready for Stage 3.  Eat the right stuff, only when you're truly hungry, and only to the point of "satisfaction" (not "fullness").  Make sure you're drinking plenty of water throughout the day.  Allow yourself an occassional "cheat" meal, then get back on track.  I've found that eating one non-paleo meal every 3 days or so produces no ill-effects, and might help you stay the course over the long haul.

Hi There Jackoriah,

That sounds like good advice from Toni - I am in exactly the same boat as you - started off so well for 1st three weeks on stage two but working in an office enviroment and coming upto Xmas, the tins of sweets and Xmas Office parties etc are coming thick and fast and to be honest I feel like I am missing out. So maybe the occassional non Paleo meal would do the trick for me to keep me from going off the rails completely.

I have a great deal of weight to lose so I cannot come off stage 2 for quite some time and it has started to become difficult. Maybe it will be easier in the new year once all the temptations have gone away, who knows....

Trying to be strong but not feeling it - best of luck to you - I feel your pain......lol

If you suspect that statement to be true, then you'll probably want to know why it could be true. Well, this is what I have devoted my life to finding out, and I want to share with you everything i've learnt, as well as learn from you!
Shut me up?
