hello, i just found this site and it is great. i want to get back into shape and going to the gym just doesnt interest me.

i am 30yrs old stand 6' tall and weigh in at 248(for now). i recently changed my eating habits to a lower calorie intake, lots of water and mainly of fresh foods(fresh and easy).

where i live i have a little over 1 acre that has some elevation change to it, grass, dirt, and concrete. i am trying to figure out a good starter work out plan to get going and sooner than later switch to a high intensity work out.

So if anyone has any suggestions i would love to here them and put them to use.

thanks

Nick

hey nick, welcome to the tribe Smiley
i'm relatively new here myself and not a trainer but i will pass on what i can

for getting started i would recommend good old fashioned calisthenics
jumping jacks, burpees, bear crawl, lunges, push-ups, sit-ups, get-ups, mountain climbers, box jumps, lateral jumps etc.

do some interval running/sprints

some free/cheap equipment - rocks & log, a jump rope, sand bags, old tire & sledge hammer, and a place for chin/pull, ups

i would stay with body weight exercises till you establish a good base (especially your core) then add "weights" from there (maybe the first 2-3 weeks)

good site (imho) for workouts and exercise ideas www.monkeybargym.com
as well as the crossfit link at the bottom of this page

just listen to your body and have fun with it

hope this helps and good luck

peace

I like the picture idea. It beats the old "see if the dog will eat it 1st" trick.

If you suspect that statement to be true, then you'll probably want to know why it could be true. Well, this is what I have devoted my life to finding out, and I want to share with you everything i've learnt, as well as learn from you!
