I started this diet, sorry- way of eating, 9 days ago after my ENT DR suggested the diet for my allergies. I have been having wicked headaches and sinus pressure- not always bad, but always there to some degree. I was snacking on nuts and she called to tell me I wasn't allergic to any food at all, just maybe the mold in them, hence no nuts! Trouble was I was enjoying the diet, so I am now sticking with it. Had Liver, Bacon and Onions for a feast last night- what can be better than that!

Serious question's: Can you have coffee or tea on this diet? I admit I cracked after 7 days on the diet, Now I allow myself 1 morning black coffee, 1 afternoon black tea. Honestly, the headache I had all week went after 15 minutes. Did I blow it?

How about beer? Last time I didn't have  a beer for 9 days was when i was 12 years old growing up in England!

I drink coffee on a rare occasion (once or twice a month) but i drink teas nearly every day, so yes you can defiantly drink a strong black tea if you enjoy it Smiley

did you get the headache after abstaining from coffee/black tea? or did you get the headache when you reintroduced it?   if you got it from abstaining thats just your withdrawal from the caffeine, it works much like a smokers withdrawals from smoking. and if you got it when you reintroduced it thats your body "yelling" at you for reintroducing something that It wasn't used to having anymore. Listen to your body, if you feel like you absolutely "need" your morning coffee then go ahead and have it. I allow myself a space for 1 "cheat" each day, that way I stay on track because its like a reward for being a healthy eater for the rest of the day  Cheesy

also, if you have a day or two each week where you find yourself eating one of more unpaleo foods try to limit yourself to just those 1-2 days, any more will probably make you go back to your old eating habits. I know that I will have grains every now and then, but when i do I make sure that its only once that week. the key is to be flexible and forgive yourself if you give into temptation. no need to beat yourself up  Cool

It was a withdrawal headache. I didn't even drink that much coffee, maybe 2 x a day. One cup viewed as a treat is way more satisfying that two chugged!

I gave up caffeine about a year ago - Oh, the headaches and the fatigue, it was ridiculous! I managed to stick it out though, and it was the best thing ever, I felt so much more alive after that and now I sleep much better too, so I'm really pleased.

Coffee is the devils brew ........ Grin

Seriously though, the headaches i used to get with coffee .......ACK!!....., and it was so addictive....... i just gave it up and haven't looked back. Give it 2 weeks without, and you'll be amazed how much MORE awake you feel in the morning, and you wont be needing it to perk you up. I'm also sleeping a lot better without it ( i used to wake up 10 or 20 times a night )

If you suspect that statement to be true, then you'll probably want to know why it could be true. Well, this is what I have devoted my life to finding out, and I want to share with you everything i've learnt, as well as learn from you!
