Hi All,

I found this website after reading about the 'Caveman' diet in a UK newspaper.

I have been diagnosed with type 2 Diabetes for about 5 years now and after a good start of watching what I ate etc, I let it lapse and went back to my old ways. Blood sugar was running around the 12 to 15 mark (ouch) and generally things weren't good.

I hated the medicine, Metformin being the devils tablet, so I didn't take it.

I started the caveman diet on Monday and my blood sugar is now running at a very pleasing 8.x, something I haven't seen for a long time.

I have basically gone straight to stage 3 whereby I have been grazing throughout the day and having a main evening meal when I get home from work.

My main incentive was/is my newest arrival, at 44 I have an 18 month old daughter.

Well I hope my little tale may help others to start or stick :-)

All the best,

Nomis Remlap (which is my name backwards but what everyone calls me)

Just following on from my previous post, Blood suger this morning was 8.6, very pleased with that, all power to the caveman diet!

This was after a blow out on Friday that included beer and bad food :-)

Happy days

Well done, that's really great going.
It's been in the news recently that low-carb diets and ketosis can 'reverse' type 2 diabetes - wow, how long it takes the medical world to catch up with the stone age world, eh???

I think you are definitely on to a winner with regards to your diabetes and general well being with this lifestyle change - just don't let any slip ups get in your way. personally, I don't think the odd social beer or food treat is a disaster you don't want to be a hermit!

In a few more weeks I reckon you will be amazed with your progress if you keep to the fundamentals - like someone has already said on this site no two cave men eat alike so do whats best for you....

Keep the faith!!!

not sure they ever will catch up, the dietary advice given by my local Doctor's surgery is to eat pasta, wheat, potatoes etc...I did for 6 months and it made no difference :-)

Great job. I've read of others on Daily Apple having similar results but always great to hear new success stories.
