Grin I am a 40 yo and have had multiple problems with my digestive system and recently diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I have read some about this diet and it makes sense.  I'm hope that it helps and makes me feel better.  I recently broke my ankle in 2 places and have been in bed with leg up.  I had surg on it they place a plate and 6 screws . Limited activity and eating I now weigh 190lb and 5' 6" so I hope this helps with weightloss as well.

Yes,  it would be a bummer to miss summer! Cry  I'm healing well and hopefully will be back to work by the first of April.  I'm a little worried about my bones. Doc says I need to increase my calcium intake and taking calcium pills upsets my stomach so I bought some calcium chews and they have 3g of sugar and 3 carbs.  I'm wondering if this will affect the diet?  I haven't started the diet yet.  My fiance' is going grocery shopping this weekend I can't go because my leg is up in the air..lol...... so hopefully next week Monday I will start day one.  Thanks for the responses! calcium supplements shouldn't damage the diet any, they will probably help you in the long run!  Smiley

try eating a lot of leafy greens like kale, collards, spinach and broccoli along with your supplements, they are all excellent sources of calcium

Welcome - lots of fish will help with calcium deficiency, and of course, the more exercise you do, the denser your bones become which helps reduce the effects of osteoporosis in women. Load-bearing exercise has been proven to increase bone density, thus making them stronger and less likely to break.

Hope your ankle heals soon.

Thank you all for your input.  Its kind of scary going on a diet knowing you need to increase your calcium intake.  There are diets out there that really limit your nutrition intake.  I really appreciate all of your very informative comments to my questions.  My fiance' is going shopping for us Friday so we can start stage one.  He will be buying fresh berries and walnuts, almonds and we have a bag of shelled pecans in the freezer.  Now, as I understand it, you lightly snack on the nuts and fruits throughout the day and one meal you eat whatever you want.
I do this for no less than 2weeks and no more than 4weeks.  We decided to go 3 weeks and then move on to step 2.

Oh, and I'm getting use to drinking a lot of water.     Grin
