I'm a 20 year old Athletic Training student, and all through high school i was involved in athletics which sparked my interest in Weight Lifting. By the time i graduate i was a lean mean 185 lbs. However now in my sophomore year of college I've Gotten up to 215. Mainly due to my continued weight lifting and supplimentation programs. That being said I've been looking for a diet to help me decrease that weight while still being able to train hard, and believe me in this year and 3/4 of college i've tried alot. My biggest fear was when i graduate and become and athletic trainer in a high school setting i would be leaving the wrong example while being able to lift and be strong, but without having that nutritional background to keep my weight in check.

Recently a friend of mine in the AT program here at school turned me onto this Caveman (Paleo) diet plan. I've done my research and i truly believe this is the program i have been searching for. Going back to the roots of mankind is going to be the lifestyle choice that gets me where i need to be not only for myself, but to set a good example for the athletes i come in contact with through Athletic Training.

I'm getting started on phase 1 tomorrow and as of right now i am super motivated and can't wait to get in touch with my inner caveman. I would just like to take this line to thank everyone here for the great advice and motivation i need to really pull this lifestyle change off. It is my hope that once i get it started and start yielding results, i too will be able to help someone struggling to find that X-factor to take them to the next level. Thanks again, and can't wait to post more results, and give some advice of my own to some new comers! Cheesy

Thanks for the support Guys! (although i should say Gals), I would say day one was definatly a success, the grazing of nuts and some blueberries during the day really kept my apitite in check and help will me through a rigorous leg workout! The feast i had consisted of 5 egg omlete with peppers, tomato, and spinich, with a side salad (romaine and carrots-no dressing) and beets. I decided that even though in stage one i am technically allowed to eat whatever, i decided to start going paleo from the beginning. I feel great so far and can't wait for day two!

Good choice. You will be giving the athletes of the future the inspiration they need to pursue healthy eating habits. Just for that, even though I know nothing about you as a person, I'll vote king.

Welcome to the tribe! Hope it's all working out for you. You should find you have loads of energy pretty soon, which is always good!

"As fit as a modern day athlete"
If you suspect that statement to be true, then you'll probably want to know why it could be true. Well, this is what I have devoted my life to finding out, and I want to share with you everything i've learnt, as well as learn from you!
Shut me up?
