Hello, I'm new to this site and diet. No, not a diet but a way of life, eating etc. I recently turned 44 and have been athletic pretty much all my life but always heavy. I have a terrible right knee that I'm basically being told will have to be replaced but to young now and will have to wait until I'm 55.
I recently started another low carb diet and have lost down from 320 lbs to 287 lbs. I have not been able to stick with a low carb diet (meat,  dairy) in the past and really just basically felt unhealthy. I was researching low carb diets and found this and was astonished by what I was reading and confused why I haven't thought of this basic way of thinking and eating.
I have always been interested in cavemen and my mother even bought me a series of books about cavemen when I was 8.
I have also been really interested in survival and learning as much as I can.
I live in south Mississippi and dealt with no water and electricity for a month after Katrina. It's sort of hard to explain but something inside me actually liked the peace and simplicity of my life during that month. No job (business was closed), no phone, and limit travel due to roads closed. It was, in a way, tranquil.
I could go on and on but here is the good news. I started the Caveman Power three days ago. Since I had pretty much cut out all the junk food, sugars etc., I jumped to stage three.
I'm hitting pretty hard and exercising at least a hour a day. In three days I'm down 9 lbs!!
I am loving the way I feel, my energy and my enthusiasm. I plan on posting results (shorter post) from time to time. Good luck to all.

Way to go. Keep us posted. I know all about the bad knees, my right one is pretty screwed up too.

"As fit as a modern day athlete"
If you suspect that statement to be true, then you'll probably want to know why it could be true. Well, this is what I have devoted my life to finding out, and I want to share with you everything i've learnt, as well as learn from you!
Shut me up?
