Hi all,

Everything is still coming along nicely but I am now ready to expand our menu:

1) Is sweetcorn OK, in the form of corn on the cobb, cooked in boiling water?

2) And what about meatballs, made with minced beef (lowest fat possible), onion, pepper and an egg to bind it all together then cooked in the oven rather than fried in oil?

3) We love healthy spaghetti bolognese, again low fat mince, onion, mushroom and passata/chopped tomatoes but I'm guessing the spaghetti is the bad thing here?

Any tops/advice gladly received.

Simon.

Its not really about the fat. Its about the carbs and sugar. Sweetcorn is full of em. Sure you can have it once in a while but on a regular basis. I would say you are straying from the paleo path. After all, its a grain.

Meatballs are perfectly fine. Again dont look at fat content just make em according to paleo. And you can fry em in coconut oil. Perfectly healthy. Fat is good for you.

Spaghetti also is not allowed. But again. It is all up to you what you want to allow once in a while. I for example eat Greek cheese sometimes. We all have our own cheat days  Smiley

This "diet" requires you to think differently....... it's carbs that are to be avoided not fat. Of course you can grill meat if you prefer rather than fry for taste reasons ( i prefer grilled), but don't worry about low fat mince etc.

What i would try and do is make a list of all the foods you can eat, then you can come up with some different combinations and meal ideas.

Enjoy Smiley

Hi Nicki,

Have done just this, been eating a lot of oily fish and salad recently, very tasty and simple to prepare and take to work.
