I envy the man of the past, canoeing in choppy waters and coming back with a bounty of fish for their families and tribe.

we took a kayak fishing trip Saturday night, and let me say I am so glad my husband wore a life jacket, not so happy that all of our expensive electronic devices went under water with him  Roll Eyes  but he is safe and in one piece and thats enough for me to forgive him  Kiss and we still didn't catch anything! haha except a case of the chills  Tongue

so we have been watching kayak fishing videos via youtube and have been practicing on calmer waters, me being pregnant people have been saying "oh no you are working your body too hard! you should be relaxing!" I just look at them and scoff. You can barely tell I am pregnant, save the bump protruding 6 inches from my midline. I have even been getting praise from my midwife telling me how "spot on" I am with my weight and how healthy I am. and I thank my paleo lifestyle for all of it! I take my inspiration from tribal women, who even though they are weeks before due date they are still trekking along as strong and as graceful as before they fell pregnant. these are the same women who squat down, have their baby, pick their child up and nestle them close to their breast as they continue their hard days work. I have nothing but immense respect for these women!

Thats my bit for today, just wanted to share what was on my mind.

Shame about the gadgets!
Yeah, you just ignore all the idiots saying you should rest while pregnant. Look at the huge infant mortality rate during the victorian era - don't work, rest all the time, eat lots of bread... no wonder so many babies didn't survive. Of course, there were lots and lots of other factors, but I am convinced that the mothers being told not to lift a finger contributed.
Besides, kayaking works your arms and chest and probably obliques - it's not like you'll go into labour from wiggling a paddle around!!  Grin

you got that right!!

my Grandmother was talking to me the other day about how things are so different now then they were back in her day. She was actually a bit upset about the amount of knowledge we have today about pregnancy and she even said at one point "If I would have known then what I know now I am sure i would be a lot healthier"  and then went on to say how strong/toned I looked for being a pregnant woman. It makes me happy that i am doing a good job with myself, even if that means defying conventional practices. I am stubborn as heck though LOL I get my mind set on something and that something is going to happen.

I'm just picturing some chick doing that and saying "holy crap, I was pregnant!?" now.

If you suspect that statement to be true, then you'll probably want to know why it could be true. Well, this is what I have devoted my life to finding out, and I want to share with you everything i've learnt, as well as learn from you!
Shut me up?
