Ok So it has been a week and I am loving it. I feel great and seriously for the first time since getting out of the Army I can see my abs! On a serious note though, after I had my son I became hypoglycemic. I tweak the diet a little by just adding a little peanut butter to an apple in the morning because the protein is great for me to not get dizzy. I was addicted to caffeine also. After a week I am still so tired. I have no energy and feel like taking 3 naps a day. I am working out daily. Will this tiredness subside after a while? Thank you in advance for your advice.

Hi and welcome to the tribe!
If you've given up caffeine, expect the tiredness to last a fortnight. If it persists after that, try adding a little more fat to your diet for energy. By cutting out carbs you have to replace it with something else to burn - for us that's fat.
Try that and see how it goes. I remember when I gave up caffeine I thought I was going to die! But I didn't and now I feel so much better for it.
Give it another week and let us know your progress.

I was tired for the first few weeks also, as I was a serious carb addict before I started this! I also gave up caffeine at the same time, so double whammy! It will pass, believe me; and you will start to feel absolutely wonderful! I am age 62, in excellent health (and want to stay that way!), and have never felt better than when I am on this food plan ( 2 months now).
I was in a car accident last year and had to get x-rays of both knees, and the doc said there was no trace of any arthritis and that I had the knees of a 25 year old. I take glucosamine and have for YEARS, so I think that is why! This food plan will only serve to help keep things in working order!!
There are so many good books and reference materials out there, too. I hope that you will stick with it and the tiredness WILL pass!

"As fit as a modern day athlete"
If you suspect that statement to be true, then you'll probably want to know why it could be true. Well, this is what I have devoted my life to finding out, and I want to share with you everything i've learnt, as well as learn from you!
Shut me up?
