hi guys,

first off im not completely new (ive been reading the forums for a good few months now) but this is my first post!

i have a question or two so any help would be hugely appreciated.
i am currently at university and for the past few weeks have found myself dipping in and out of the caveman diet, and dont believe i will be able to truly follow it whilst studying simply due to going out (alcohol) and budget (cheap food). any tips?

also, my feast today consisted of 3 rashers bacon, 5 meatballs, 4 sausages (the poor quality cheap ones), 3 eggs, 1 onion, 1 tomatoe, peas and sweetcorn (my food gwas oing out of date). although i fried with sunflower oil am i right in thinking this dish was almost paleo? it tasted good! Grin
cheers guys! x

Welcome to the tribe, Uni!
First off, you can totally be paleo while at uni. Yes, alcohol is evil and non-paleo  Grin but we all drink it on occasion. Try to at least cut down. I still drink but I consider myself to be paleo.
As for budget, I'm certainly on one as well! But cheaper cuts of meat are still good and most big supermarkets do deals on fresh meat that is reaching it's sell-by-date. Buy it cheap and put it straight in the freezer, then defrost it when you need to eat it.
Cheap sausages aren't really paleo as they contain a lot of rusk and wheat. Bacon is very paleo - check out www.marksdailyapple.com - he's absolutely obsessed with bacon! (Because it's full of protein and good fat but no carb).
Your feast was paleo with the exception of the cheap sausages, the peas and the sweetcorn - corn (grain) and peas (legumes) are not allowed. Also, perhaps a little less meat/protein and a few more vegetables to even things out?

is it bad that I am 21 (legal age of drinking where I am) and I want nothing to do with alcohol?  (and I was this way before I got pregnant)

like falcon said, you can be completely paleo and still go to university you just have to get creative! the key to this diet is really creativity, because a lot of foods have grain based ingredients it takes a lot of trial and error to get a good blend while nixing the grain. once you get the hang of it its very easy! like ask for extra lettuce when you get a burger and use the lettuce as your bun.

Uni,

I'm as bad as you are for having to use up food before it goes out of date, I end up with some strange combo's. For example, last nights feast was eggs, sausages, lamb chops and pinapple ... I don't care though, it tasted good  Shocked

I'm already finding that veg is so much sweeter than it ever has been, carrotts taste like they would be better off in a dessert!
