I just visited my doctor and he turned me onto caveman diet. He said I need to lose about 20 lbs. I am 6' 220 lbs so hes probably right.
I am starting my first day today and drank a cup of water for breakfast.
I am at work and have been snacking for about 2 hours. I have had a cutie orange and some Natural Almonds and an apple.
All I have left is a bananna and more almost ands im already starving.
Not sure how I am going to make it until dinner at 5:30 when its only 10:33 here.
Any tips are welcome and what do you think my gial weight should be.

I had the same feeling but as each day passes you will find that you snack less just try not to have food in sight and if you have the craving, the try to wait five mins it may pass and you can get to your break or meal time and if then you are still going crazy the just have a little bit. Try also to fine something to keep you busy and you may not think about. I have also been adding crystal light to my water it is now carrying me over, undure how bad this is i think its ok as i double the water to package. Lately I have come home with some of my snack not eaten as I was not hungry for them.

Make sure you're drinking a good deal of water as well, it really helps with suppressing appetite. Also, you get to feast tonight! Use that as motivation to keep pushing forward; mind over matter!

It's just a band-aid but you might try chewing sugarless gum to take your mind off snacking until you adjust.

The feast was nice, I ate a chipotle burrito and some chips and guac and a doughnut. Might have over done it, but today is much easier then yesterday. So Far I have only had 2 bananas and some nuts and a little coffee and water.

I never knew how much a habit eating food was till I started this !! As a foodie I loved everything and anything at anytime and it's very habit forming. I found this the hardest thing to break and if I am honest,still do!! I work long hours sometimes out side and it's comfort food to me so, life is tough!! I find most days I feel hungry, well I think I do, but really it's just a habit thing in my mind. Stick with it, I found that grazing, even if it appears a lot of nuts did help and I just reduced my intake every couple of days, drink pleany of water. I am no expert and I say, it's not a diet, it's a way of life! Good luck and stick with it. Spike

It does get easier, when i first started stage one i had problems with hunger also. Try getting those big bottles of smart water and make it a habit to have it drank by lunch. Everytime you get a hunger pain just take another big swig of water and that should fill your stomach for a while. Also chewing sugarless gum worked for me as well. Try out different flavored waters too. Once you get past stage one and start stage two it gets alot easier. If i can do it anybody can.

All the best to you on your journey. I am also on my first night, and have found it not actually too bad. I am usually a carb-junkie, but I went grocery shopping today, and managed to go through all the aisles of the sweets etc without batting an eyelid. Been eating nothing protein today, had meat for breakfast, some fruit in between...plenty of water, some nuts - then had some pork mushrooms green peppers cauliflower and some broccoli for dinner, then some green tea and some water... Also managed to fit and hour of exercise (mix between cardio and free weights). It's managable, and get's easier - so, keep it up and look forward to the end result

Figured I would post an update. Since I have been eating better and working out. I have lost 20 lbs now. Only 30 - 40 more to my goal

I didnt eat too much fruit, I normally had a bananna and later on an orange. I ate a ton of nuts though.

Dragonsway, Stage one, I would eat a banana, apple and 1/2 grapefruit with about 30 almonds between 7:00am-6:00 pm.

Fruits are great, but I would stick mostly to vegetables, as fruits have a lot of natural sugars and vegies don't. The point of stage one is mainly to shrink your stomach and show you when you're eating healthy, how bad all of the processed foods actually will make you feel. Give some things a try and see for yourself how they work, then make your adjustments...

MrChris is right, you have to listen to your body. I started out needing to lose 160 pounds, so what I was eating for stage one worked. Because it was a lot less than the normal, and not all the bad things. You know what you want to acheive, just fix it on a day to day bases.

MrChris, I think I am going to have to go by a knee wrap. My knee was acting up before I started the diet, then it stopped hurting. But since last Friday it has been acting up again. Maybe because I have started playing racquetball, working out and walking. It might be too much, but I don't feel like it is enough. My brother said that I was turning into a workout junky. Like tonight, I am going to a workout class from 6-7, racquetball from 7-8, and then going to workout with my brother 9-10. I just feel good about the lifestyle, I don't want to be sitting anymore.

Good on you Scorpio! Be careful with your knee, but I would imagine that the pains are part of the strengthening process, since you're being significantly more active these days, than you were before. Take it easy, but I'll bet that you'll probably get used to what you're doing and the pains will subside. I'm hoping my bike and cycle computer show up early this week. I have my finals this week and intend to be cycling over the coming weekend, woot woot!

That is awesome, I am looking for a bike too. I would like to get a mountain bike to start off with. My son wants me and him to start going on bike rides in the evening. I think it will be a lot of fun, but we have some bills that need to be paid first.

Biking is another activity that will be good for your joints, as it is low impact. That's great that your son wants to bike with you. Having someone to do things with makes it easier to keep it going and it's more fun doing it.
