Hello all,
I am a fourteen year old girl, I'm 5.3", and I'm 147 pounds. I'm not overweight; I have a fair bit of muscle. I am healthy too, and quite fit. However, I do have a little flab on my stomach that I am gradually losing by eating less and healthier.

I stumbled across the caveman diet a few days ago, and I have to say it got me intrigued. I've never given much thought about eliminating certain food groups out of my diet before. After all, I've been told that if you eat less and healthier you lose weight.

I have a few problems though. One, my parents would never agree to do this, as they won't have the time nor the money to prepare this food for me. Two, I'm concerned about eliminating calcium from my diet, as I'm still growing. Three, is it generally good for kids to do this? Lastly, I do a lot of cycling, and I'm kind of dependent on carbohydrates to give me energy to race.

I was thinking that if I wait until I finish growing, wait until I stop relying on my parents, then I could go on the caveman diet? I wouldn't mind saving up the money, and surely I'll have the time. The only things I'd miss are my pastas, bread, porridge and dark chocolate Sad I love fruits, meats, pulses, vegetables, and eggs though! I could eat them all day!

Can anyone give me any advice on the subject? I'm new to this so I'm hardly an expert.
Thank you! Grin

You're not eliminating calcium at all...... there is plenty in fish and green veggies Smiley ( i love tuna right now!!)

Also can you do some of you're own food preparation like making a ham or chicken salad for example??..... even if you can't eat purely caveman, i'm sure you can make some small changes like cutting out coffee, sodas, processed food, bread etc........even some small changes will be beneficial until you're old enough to be 100% in control of what you eat Smiley

"As fit as a modern day athlete"
If you suspect that statement to be true, then you'll probably want to know why it could be true. Well, this is what I have devoted my life to finding out, and I want to share with you everything i've learnt, as well as learn from you!
Shut me up?
