Hi there,

I am 24 year old New Zealander and keen to start on the Paleo way of life. I work from home and it makes me crazy. Very depressed and lazy with a love affair for carbs. I have just joined the gym and want to get back to eating a more simple diet of fruit, veges, nuts and seafood. There are some aspects of the diet that I might have to compromise on such as alcohol and coffee. I think in the beginning that will have to do and if I get really inspired I can wean myself off of those. I eat fish and eggs but not other meat. I have not eaten other types of meat for a really long time (years). I think if I was to start eating meat again and I stopped eating paleo food, I would probably go a little crazy in the fast food department and things would get even worse. So I am just going to stick with seafood and free range eggs. I am quite poor so I can't really eat organic though I am going to go and check out the city vegetable gardens. I don't know how I will survive without english breakfast tea and milk - it is my comfort blanket. Anyway, I just wanted to introduce myself rather than being the voyeur who lurks about this forum!

Welcome.

I eat a lot of fish myself. It's good for you.

Mark had several articles on Paleo on a budget(scroll down)

No problem. Some of the ways I save is I can't remember the last time I hit a starbucks or juicebar.

Those kind of things are just way too overpriced.

The only frozen items I buy are sometimes frozen vegies. The markup on most frozen foods is crazy.

I also save all that money I use to spend on cakes, cookies, Ice Cream, imported cheeses, candies, crackers, box dinners, fast foods.  Grin

I'm real lucky on the fish, my relatives all fish for sport and keep me stocked in fish for free.

If you suspect that statement to be true, then you'll probably want to know why it could be true. Well, this is what I have devoted my life to finding out, and I want to share with you everything i've learnt, as well as learn from you!
Shut me up?
