Hello all,

I just wanted to share this - I have now finished my first day of phase 2 and found it much easier then I expected, i dranks lots of water and while i felt mildly hungry it was always in the background.
My meal when I got home from work was Roast chicken, with parsnips, brussel sprouts, cabbage and a turnip/carrot mash. I know that sounds a lot but it was about 3oz of each veggie, which according to Fitday is about 35 net carbs, so well within my limit of 50.

So all in all, I'm really pleased with myself, i just hope everyday is as good as this. Oh, and I walked for 30 minutes today which for a guy weighing 389lbs is pretty good.

Most importantly i feel sooo much better then i did before I started this lifestyle so everything is going great.

Hope you are all doing good too,
Best wishes,
Nick

Remember though that you're not reducing your carbs, you're eliminating bad carbs....... you can eat lots of veggies if you want.......they're not bad!!

Hi

Gratz on phase II i agree don't starve yourself (I'm sure your not) life still needs to be enjoyable so have a good feast your body will thank you. If you eat too sparingly you might find you get more and more hungry to the point you need to eat days down the line.

Imagine that your exercise is hunting and gathering and you can eat the fruits of your labour

Have fun

hello Both,

Thanks for your feedback,  I fully understand what your saying its just that at my weight I want to see big results quickly, otherwise at the recommended 2lb a week loss it will take me forever.....
I read on the Daily Apple website a limit of 50grammes of carbs per day was perfect for weight loss. Obviously once I get further towards my goal I can excercise more and will introduce more carbs so that I can maintain my weight.
I am aware though that by being too strict will only mean failure later on so will be on my guard against that.

Maybe I will add some more carbs at weekend etc.

Thanks again all, its always nice to hear your comments and get tips from more experienced 'Cavers'

"As fit as a modern day athlete"
If you suspect that statement to be true, then you'll probably want to know why it could be true. Well, this is what I have devoted my life to finding out, and I want to share with you everything i've learnt, as well as learn from you!
Shut me up?
