Hi mona,

We all get different results and I can tell you that in the first week I lost nothing. My wife lost 5kg. The 2nd week I lost 5kg and my wife lost 1kg. That was eating anything for feasts which were not healthy but sticking to stage 1 criteria. Those results were with no exercise at all. I started this as morbidly obese and I am now obese. I am just starting exercise. I must say that I have not measured my results on weight loss but how good I am feeling which is REALLY REALLY GREAT! My intention when I started was to measure this by weight loss and if I didnt feel so great at the end of week 1 I would of quit because I lost nothing. For the record my wife and I are both still loosing weight 6 weeks into it now on stage 2. Good luck.

Seems like the bigger a person is, the more/faster it drops off.

Eating 2 paleo meals a day and grazing on nuts and berries(how I started) I was losing about a pound a week.

When I got into one meal a day(evening) and grazing on veggies/fruits/nuts during the day I started losing 5lbs a week, with some minor cheating such as deserts at car rallies and maybe a couple oatmeal cookies once or twice a week.

Some exercise will help of course, you don't have to go crazy or anything. A brisk walk for 30 minutes a couple times a day is a good start. Taking the stairs at work, etc.

I started at 190, now down to 168. Pounds are a little slower to drop now but I'm gaining muscle mass and my old jeans fit again(best part).

Keep up the good work and let us know how it's going.

Last few weeks I got into periods of fasting and cutting out the grazing. I usually do this on my off days.

Makes sense to me since it seems more natural. It's like the less I eat the less hungry I am. Weird.

Last meal I had was lunch yesterday, 3 eggs, bacon, spring salad, and some fruit/nuts. Only water for me so far today. Did my food shopping for the week, vacumed the house, and did 2 miles on incline with fully loaded pack. I'm going to eat sometime today but I'm putting it off as long as I feel OK.

Lots of authors on Paleo habits think this mimicks the way our ancestors traveled light, hunted and gathered during the day, then enjoyed the "kill" at the end of the day around the fire.

I think the 3 meals a day is a modern invention(last 100 years or so). Think about the sailors in the British navy during the 16th - 18th century. They received one square meal a day(as much food as fit on a square piece of wood 12" X 12", a square foot of food), and look at the strenuous work they did.

It really is going to depend on a person metabolism.  I myself seem to have a great one I can easily loose several pounds over a few days from just cutting back on food but I soon pile it back on when I endulge.  That's kinda why I choice this diet in a hope my urge to endulge in crap dissapears.

I have no taste for junkfood at all, so indulging myself in "crap" doesnt happen.... however I usually end up indulging in other things... watermelon especially haha I am a sucker for it. :p indulging is a good thing as long as you indulge in the right stuff!

mona- I tend to burn calories really fast, and they say that the more muscle you have the more calories you burn just by sitting. I personally have experienced that, my advice would to be increase weight bearing activities to get the most out of your experience  Smiley
