Hi everybody, I'm a horticulture student in Alabama, getting ready to graduate in May.  I have always sort of struggled with weight a little bit (read 10-25 lbs overweight max) but I've also always been VERY active because I work outside so much.  Since I came to college, my diet has absolutely gone to crap...I pretty much live off of empty carbs.  I don't really work out right now because I can't afford a gym membership, but I have worked out a good bit in the past, and my job keeps me pretty strong.  I seriously think the only reason I stay even remotely close to my ideal weight is because I work.

Normally, I'm only eating once or twice a day, I really don't eat much.  I just eat bad food...chips, soda, fast food, fried foods, sweets.  There have been many days where I literally only ate some ice cream, or chips all day.  I think it's just a lazy habit.  I work outside a lot, and the worse I eat, the worse I feel.  It effects my ability to work quite a bit.  I just found out about this whole paleo thing tonight, and honestly, it just makes sense.  So I'm starting.  I'd like to lose at least 15 lbs...we'll see how it goes.  What I'm really going for is just making a change to be more healthy.  I've spent the past 3 years in college just allowing myself to develop increasingly bad lifestyle habits...smoking, drinking, eating bad, everything.  I've been trying to get ahold of myself this semester, and this whole paleo thing just makes sense.

I really don't have to make many changes for stage one...just start actually limiting myself to a single real meal every day rather than just occasionally.  I'm hoping it will help!  I would ask, how does everybody feel about the whole smoking thing?

I wouldn't advise anyone to smoke.

Me neither..... All those poisons and toxins.....I can't think of any positive reason for doing it Sad

"As fit as a modern day athlete"
If you suspect that statement to be true, then you'll probably want to know why it could be true. Well, this is what I have devoted my life to finding out, and I want to share with you everything i've learnt, as well as learn from you!
Shut me up?
