Hi everyone ,

I'm only just starting out on this new lifestyle and must say that I'm really enjoying it already and have already lost 3kg's after only a couple of days. Here is my problem though - Exercise!!!!! Sad Sad Sad

I am a really busy person nearly all week - I'm up at 5:30am every morning and don't get home till around 5:30 in the afternoon. By that time I ususally start dinner, put the washing on and do the dishes after dinner. By the time I actually get to sit down and relax a bit it's usually around 7:30pm and I'm so tired that all I want to do is go to bed - I work full-time 40hrs p/week plus overtime, I'm doing a traineeship so most of my LITTLE free time is spent studying and then I have a house to run at the same time. I used to try to go for a walk in my lunch break but these days we are so busy at work that I'm lucky to even get a lunch break - and it's only going to get worse as we have 2 of the 5 staff having operations in the next few weeks that will put them out of action for 3-5 weeks. Can someone PLEASE tell me how I can get some more exercise into my day? My job is mainly sit down work with little movement and apart from a short walk to the post office every morning I really don't do too much during the day!!!

Any advise regarding how to introduce more exercise into my life without me needing to get out of bed at 4am  Sad would be greatly appreciated  - i know a busy lifestyle really isn't an excuse for not exercising but I just don't know how I can find anymore time in my day  Sad PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!

Hi Jess,

I gave a brief answer to a similar question here:

Bottom line is that, if you really want to fit exercise into a busy schedule, you just need to prioritize it and get creative.

Good luck, and welcome aboard   Cool

Yes this was problem for me as well. My solution was to incorporate it into my daily routine, eg I now ride by bike to work every day (including during winter when it was minus eight). I also started doing this intense 10min routine that I found on youtube (the one from that sixpackabs guy). It doesn't use any equipment and is so intense it just about kills me. At first i could barely do it but quickly improved. I found that once you get started exercising you get kinda addicted to it so even though you're wasted at the end of the day you've just got to get started. Another trick I use is to flop in front of the TV but do some intense exercising during the commercials. Who wants to watch commercials anyway huh?

Think a lot of us suffer the same !! I have a buzzer set on my phone, gives a little bleep ever hour and I get up and walk round, even if I don't need anything!! Wander round the office, talk to other, just a few mins.
At home, do you have someone to help you with chores? Sit them down and tell them what you are wanting to achieve etc. I have started taking my lunch break!! It's my time for which I don't get paid. The quality of my work is good so no one complains!! (not that they can) start with one day a week, take you lunch break, walk or run or swim and build it up,even if it's only a couple of days in the week.
I do have a very good employer but can understand if you don't, you feel constantly under threat which is not nice, maybe a little direct action as laid out above may work, depends on how you feel about you employer.
Stay focused, stay cool and stay safe

"As fit as a modern day athlete"
If you suspect that statement to be true, then you'll probably want to know why it could be true. Well, this is what I have devoted my life to finding out, and I want to share with you everything i've learnt, as well as learn from you!
Shut me up?
