New guy here so please forgive my ignorance. I`m begining the meal plan tommorow. I have a fairly active lifestyle, I`m in the military so most days are spent on my feet. I was looking for some advice from members who are further along in the program. I have some concerns about being able to keep up with my current lifestyle with such a drastic nutritional change but am looking forward to trying this out. My fitness schedule is : 45 minutes of swimming on weekday mornings, then I have 1 hour of unit pt( usually a 10-12 km run with some push ups, pull ups, and sit ups at the end) and I`m partially following the sealfit program in the evenings. I`m sure there are members with a more intense fitness schedule that could lend some experiance. I was also wondering if I need to take additional vitamins or calcium pills( with the absence of dairy). Any advice would be greatly appreciated, Thanks.

When I was working out rigorously I was able to sustain enough food and stay (mostly) paleo-friendly. Of course I did "cheat" a little with cottage cheese and maybe a small amount of grains (about 2 servings) a week. The key is to be flexible and not try to be so strict and you'll be able to sustain it for a longer period of time.

If you eat enough green veggies ( spinach/brocolli/green cabbage), then you don't need any extra calcium supplements. A cup of cooked spinach has the same amount of cacium as a cup of milk.

If you're not happy with the fasting part of stages one and two, then by all means jump straight  to stage 3..... there are some of us on here ( me included) who just wanted to eat right straight from the beginning.

Best of luck, and let us know if you need any help with meal suggestions

Great advice, thanks. Diet is absolutely killing me haha. But down 6 pounds so far. I have to go straight to step 3, I too just want to eat right. I'm going to mix in some plain oatmeal a few times a week for breakfast because I'm drained all the time and light headed, also to increase the chances of sucess with sticking to the proper diet. Thanks again.

It may take a bit of time for your body to adjust from burning carbs to burning fat.....you should find in a little while your energy levels improve Smiley

Add in some nice fatty meat instead of oatmeal - see if that works any better. You may be lightheaded because you're not consuming enough fat to burn as fuel.
