I am feeling slightly dizzy, but then again I've been trying to stick with just an apple throughout the day and then my feast consists of salmon and asparagus or another vege at night.

I also have some questions about what I should be eating during this first stage because about two weeks ago I dislocated my knee cap and I'm a little concerned about my diet at this time, but I thought what better time to choose to be dizzy than when I only have one good leg! haha.

Any assistance to this new-comer would be awesome! thank you.

What you describe is not uncommon thou it's call low-carb flu..

PS your feast sounds a little puney, add some bacon or a marbled steak, some butter, high fat greek yougart and see if that helps. Since your not eating as many carbs as your use to your body has to get it's energy from somewhere. That's what the fats are for. Trying to go low carb and low fat at the same time is a train wreck.

Thanks Dude! I love the huntergather page! Smiley Is that Jack Black in your photo? Seems like bacon is very fatty? That seems strange to me...plus I was a vegan 4 years ago, then I decided that meat wasn't all bad so I'm still trying to work my way to pork. Does anyone know of any good Paleo cookbooks?

Hi
Agree with Houmax - you need more fat in your feast, also perhaps a handful of almonds or something throughout the day?
There are several Paleo cookbooks out there - check out Amazon - but personally I prefer to just make them up as I go along. As long as it has lots of vegetables and a good hunk of protein, you can't go wrong!  Grin

You need a complete new way of thinking for this way of life ( i wont call it a diet!!)

Fat is not bad for you....... too many processed /refined carbohydrates (cakes biscuits/pasta/bread) are bad for you.

Bacon is absolutely fine....... if you want to lose a large amount of weight then by all means grill rather than fry till you achieve your goal.

You're feeling dizzy right now because one apple for the entire day isn't enough........ try having 2 handfuls of nuts and 2 pieces of fruit during the day instead.....and plenty of water too.

You should be feeling better in no time

Thanks for the advice guys. I picked up "The Paleo Diet Cookbook," by Loren Cordain last night- highly informative and it has some great meal ideas!
