So assuming the Stage 2 or even 3 of this lifestyle I am wondering about food intake.  If I am fasting today what is right and what is too much food in the evening?  Keeping I am 5'11" and now 195lbs how many calories should I consume?  The reason is that I think I am eating too much after 5pm and perhaps if I ate a little bit during the day I wouldn't?Huh  Last night for instance I was very hungry and ate 1lb of salmon and a large salad including 1 egg!  I feel guilty today and wonder what to do, help!

How is your body reacting? Besides feeling guilty, do you feel energetic and awake? It seems like you are eating the right kinds of foods. As far as how much to eat it is wise to leave that up to your body. By that I mean you should never feel like your stomach is stretched out after a feast. if you're anything like me aftera day of fasting when I begin my feast the food will taste especially delicious, after a while the tastes of the different items will begin to blend and become more dull. That to me is my bodies fist sign that I am full and at that point I stop eating. Remember, your stomach is only as big as your fist.

Eat the right kinds of foods, only when truly hungry, and only until the point of satistfaction (not "fullness").  Drink plenty of water throughout the day.  From time to time, let yourself feel hungry for extended periods of time, even up to a fast of 24-36 hours.

Do this most of the time (say 6 days a week, or so).  Every once in a while, eat whatever you want.

A pound of salmon with salad and an egg doesn't represent a huge amount of calories, so don't worry about that, although it probably did make you feel quite full.  Sounds like a healthy, balanced feast to me!

Hmmm, 2 1/2 weeks now and no real weight loss Sad  On the positive side I feel great, back at the gym and I love the food!  Perhaps the lack of weight loss is due to the body initially being confused, new diet, working out again, etc  Maybe it's in "protect" mode lol.  It doen't really make sense because the calories are way lower than usual so it must be just that, the body being confused.  One other interesting aside is my bodies new way of dealing with waste.........much slower!?!

Make sure you're eating plenty of fiber (veggies, fruit, nuts) and drinking lots of water... too much meat and not enough plant food can make the bowels very sluggish, which could also account for extra bodyweight.

Way to go. Congrats.

This is the one diet I can actually stick to. To me it's not that hard. Guys at work tried to tempt me with cupcakes last night. HA. If I'm going to cheat I want at least cheesecake  Grin

I love the forums, just read this thread and feel so much better for doing so.  After a week of pretty much sticking to the plan food wise ( a few beers got through at the weekend whilst at a BBQ ) after my weight of i'd lost just over 2lbs was a little disappointed but thought 2lbs off is better than 2 on and I only want to lose a stone before my holidays in October so wasnt too worried.

But reading the thread I now think great 2lbs gone  Grin
