Cavemen had training. You don't kill a deer without practicing your bow. No one runs down a buffalo on foot without spending plenty of time running first. You won't throw your spear accuratelly, or powerfully, if you haven't throw it a thousand times before. Wielding an ax or atlal with a war shield takes plenty of training and practice.

Tribal cultures round the world have been documented training their young men and boys to fight. Look at the Masai, the Apache, or the Polynesians. Tribal festivals and religous events often revolve around tests of strength, skill, speed and endurance. Ancient man must have spent huge amounts of their time practicing hunting skills just to survive.

There is no such thing as "tough". You're either trained or untrainedPeriod.

Guys like me aren't born this way, actually we're not born at all. We're hatched from vulture eggs left in the sun, then raised by Wolves...

agreed 100%

I always love reading and watching documentaries about the tribal cultures and their rites of passage into manhood/womanhood. they make me feel so lazy in comparison, and I use that as my motivation to push forward. rather than using a picture of a model I want to look like I use a heavy object or put some sort of physical test in front of me and that is my goal. although being a woman its hard to break out of the "beauty" image  Tongue

Have you guys heard of Georges Hébert?

With respect to codifying our natural physical skills, he developed what is known as "la méthode naturelle," based on his travels and experiences with the indigenous peoples of Africa, circa 1900. He formed his method by observing their ways.

His ten fundamentals were:
Walking. Running. Jumping. Quadrupedal movement. Climbing. Balancing. Throwing. Lifting. Defending. Swimming.

However you enjoy training, if you practice these skills as part of it, I think you will be that much closer to your natural and unrestrained abilities!

Currently, it is most prominently manifest in Parkour training principles.

"As fit as a modern day athlete"
If you suspect that statement to be true, then you'll probably want to know why it could be true. Well, this is what I have devoted my life to finding out, and I want to share with you everything i've learnt, as well as learn from you!
Shut me up?
