I'm starting tomorrow.  Going to drive to Montana tomorrow and I think it's a perfect day to start the diet.

Can we eat rib eye steaks during stage 2 and 3?  I didn't see "lean" meat, so I assumed that fat is okay.  I'm not going to eat rib eye every day but may be twice a week.  I did a Dr. Stillman's low carb diet which I can't eat fatty steaks at all.   Stillman's diet works well but it's very boring.  I couldn't stay on long term.  When I stay on extreme low carb diet for a long time, I find my self stay longer on cheating because I feel very deprived.  What I'm worried about the Caveman diet is that I will not lose that much.  I'm 5'2" and 130 lbs.  On Dr. Stillman's diet, I lose quickly but I also gain back quickly.

After I finish with stage 2, I might try to have a "cheat day" during stage 3.  I like to eat sushi, pasta, bread and brown rice.  I don't know if I will be craving for these food items but I will give it a try and see if it will interfere with my weight loss.

If you crave for pizza and such, do you go back to stage 1 so that you can allow yourself to eat pizza?

I'm confused.

Hello and welcome,

This isn't a very low carb diet...... if you're eating lots of fruit and veggies, then you'll be getting plenty of carbs. It might take your body a short while to adjust to the absence of bread /pasta etc though.

As for fat, it depends how much weight you have to lose...... if it's a stone or less than i wouldn't worry about how much fat you're consuming...... any sort of steak is fine.

It's also OK to " cheat" now and again.... rice is a more natural food than bread which is heavily processed..... I would go back to eating correctly the next day, no need to go back to go back to stage one and start again, unless you fall off the wagon big time, and need to retrain your body again.

Good luck

On my second day and it's okay so far.  I think I have been eating too much berries though.  I had a small thing of raspberries, a small thing of blue berries, and some strawberries.  I drank quite a bit of water too but I don't know if it was enough.  The surprising thing about stage one is that I didn't feel bloated after fearing on a burger, fries, and a chocolate shake.  I ate may be three bites of the burger too.  I'm beginning to like this diet already.  It kept me from just nibble on chips, and fast food.  I'm on a road trip with my parents and I feel really good.  I can't wait to go home and get on a scale.  My jeans fit me a little bit better too and my stomach looks a bit smaller too.

Thank you nicki for replying to my post.  Your post was very helpful.  I will not give up yet and I'll give this a try for a while longer.

If you suspect that statement to be true, then you'll probably want to know why it could be true. Well, this is what I have devoted my life to finding out, and I want to share with you everything i've learnt, as well as learn from you!
Shut me up?
