I think I was overdoing some of my workouts. I found this site and I'm giving it a try. Less miles and stress on my bad right knee.

Try running off pavement if your knee bothers you. I go through running phases my normal runs are 3 miles and my normal sprint runs i call them are 1-1.5 miles. then on nice days with extra time i enjoy longer runs 6-7miles . All of my runs are 90% off pavement. A couple weeks ago with a break in the weather I did a 5.5 mile run one day on a dirt access road, then took a day off. The next day did a 6.5 mile on dirt trails through the woods, then took two days off. I felt great. Then I wanted to run to the bay so I took off and 90% of that run is on pavement 6.75 miles later I could really feel it in my joints, shoulders, and muscles from the pounding of the pavement. I also run with a 10-12 backpack that carries just stupid stuff I don't need for my dogs that run with me.
