I have always been intrigued by Descartes, declaration, cogito, ergo sum.

This translates to:

I think, therefore I am.

It seems something a caveman might come up with.  It requires no external input.

I've always had a love/hate relationship with that saying. It seems to be the perfect argument, there is just no way to break it down. I think Descartes went a little nutty after that (therefore I am God), but I can see how one could draw that conclusion. I'm reading a book right now called "Biocentrism" which takes evidence from experiments in quantum theory and proposes that what we perceive as an "external" world is actually an internal construct of our conciousness (which in all fairness is true and demonstratable without quantum theory) but also goes on to say that since quantum particles require an observer, and because every"thing" is made of quantum particles therefore the entire univereses existence requires an observer to see it existing. This implies that it is conciousness that gives rise to the universe, not the other way around.
I haven't done it much justice in this post, but if people are interested in hearing more I'll post some more details.

Nihil Novi Sub Sole:
There is nothing new under the sun

since we're all here to learn new wisdom from ancient man, I think this fits.

"As fit as a modern day athlete"
If you suspect that statement to be true, then you'll probably want to know why it could be true. Well, this is what I have devoted my life to finding out, and I want to share with you everything i've learnt, as well as learn from you!
Shut me up?
