Exactly! I'm 38 years old, and preparing to attempt this diet, however, I am a coffee addict; do I need to break this habit?

Some do and some don't. Shouldn't effect weight loss. Some give up coffee but not tea but it's all caffeine.

I drink coffee but am more of a primal than a hard core paleo.

A primal view...

i've made the executive decision.  I'm starting this diet today and I will continue with coffee, only I will skip the milk and sugar.  Black Coffee only.

I'm glad to see others with the same question I have, regarding coffee.  I don't think I'm going to drink it black though, since artificial sweeteners commonly effect your body differently than real sugar and have zero calories, although I might cut back on creamer...
Good luck to the rest of you, I'm hoping this will help, as I commonly lack motivation.

Sugar is a better option compared to artificial sweeteners. A coffee spoon a day will be accepted as food by your body. The problem arises if you eat nothing but sugar, in one form or another, day after day.

I will have to agree, I have to have one cup of coffee a day.  Starting Monday I am going to cut out the creamer and within 2 weeks cut out coffee all together.

Good call Scorpio and good luck!  I don't think I'm ready to cut it out, but then again, anything is ok in moderation.  Keep us updated on how that's working out for you, please and thank you.  Other peoples' stories help motivate, which personally, is my real dilema...
