So, I am going to Yosemite for 5 days. I'll be camping in different areas and going on day hikes. What the heck should I take with me on my camelback to have for lunch. We usually hike for 5 hours or more. I can't imagine going all that way on just nuts and lara bars.

Any recommendations for food stuffs high in calories/energy that wont go bad without being refrigerated?

Thank you!!

5 days is a long time and your going to need lots of calories and carbs. I'd take a salami, some cheese that doesn't need fridge, some powdered milk, for extra carbs on multidays I like to take something like augreten potatoes. Just buy store variety, ditch the box(but keep the directions), and use your powdered milk in place of fresh milk. Take some bananas but eat them first as they will spoil first. Quick rice is good to take too, yea it's a grain but it's pretty benign as grains go.

Take lots of pics. I love Muir and PCT.

Oh yea, the sliced salmon(get the good stuff) in the vacum packs are great treats on the trail and don't need fridge.

Just one example...

Oh yea, the little vacum pack peporoni's are great on the trail too.
