So this is my second day.  Technically not a virgin since I started this diet yesterday.  I was impressed with the first day results.  I don't know how accurate it is but it was 5 lbs the first day.  I do have a lot to loose.  I started on 7/10 weighing 282 lbs.  I am 6' 2" and have struggled with my weight forever.  In highschool I was bulimic.  I would binge and then when I could secretly purge.  About 9 years ago I fasted for 30 days and also have done a 23 day one.  I think that is part of the bulimic in me.   So I read about this Caveman diet on the plane ride from CA to FL while on my honeymoon.  I just got back from a 5 day cruise and gained 10 lbs.  It has been a long time since I have been happy with body,  I am hoping this diet does the trick.  I might not exercise per say, but am active at work between my 2 jobs.  This is my second day.  I have the worst headache and am looking forward to dinner in about 2.5 hours.  I do have a few questions for the pros.

1. What type of seasoning/marinade can be put on the meat and/or veggies once I enter stage 2?
2. Do you squeeze the lemon juice into the water or just let it soak in the water glass?

I know I just started stage 1 but in my mind I am preparing for stage 2.  I want to have the romantic encounter with my food that is talked about, but am having a hard time finding it attractive with no seasoning and or marinades.

You can make pastes to spread on your meat before cooking....... just add a splash of water (or stock or honey) into a bowl then add in any herbs and spices you wish...... experiment with garam massala/cinamon/cumin/nutmeg/cloves/ground chilli or anything else you like. Dont forget to add in some chopped herbs....... Cheesy

Enjoy!!

When you mention not really looking at the meat in an appealing way it sounds like you're thinking of this as a depriving sort of diet.   Eating nuts and fruits help give you flavor during the day and sweetness.  I've been eating this way for a month and I have zero craving for sugar (bc of the fruit) and zero craving for bread and pasta.  I still crave pizza for some reason.  I  bought the book by Loren Cordain "Paleo Diet" and it is really helpful giving you meal plans to follow and recipes.  What i've noticed is that they all have lots of ingredients for flavor.  The idea is to get to eating CLEAN not flavorlessly.   I made myself a steak one night, for example, cooked with garlic, garlic powder and olive oil.  Then I mashed an avocado with lemon, more garlic and olive oil and tomato and spread it on the steak.  It was delicious!  In this book it discusses how you can eat paleo 85% of the time and treat yourself 15% or eat 90% paleo and 10% treating.  I like these options because you know if you're just dying for a plate of spaghetti and meatballs you can have it.  The thing is the more you eat paleo you literally lose the craving for the junk.  I have always loved candy, sweets, chips and bread and pasta and cheese and for one month of eating paleo I have not craved it.  I can't explain it.  It's just amazing.  GOOD LUCK!!!! Look at it as clean eating rather than tasteless eating!

If you suspect that statement to be true, then you'll probably want to know why it could be true. Well, this is what I have devoted my life to finding out, and I want to share with you everything i've learnt, as well as learn from you!
Shut me up?
